MAID Help is an independent, anonymous educational and advocacy website. We are not a clinic, crisis line, law firm, or government agency.
Not medical or legal advice
Content here is for general information only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or legal advice. For health decisions, speak with qualified clinicians. For eligibility under Canada’s medical assistance in dying (MAID) law, rely on official federal and provincial sources.
MAID terminology
We use medical assistance in dying (MAID) for the regulated Canadian framework. We discuss proposed expansion to cases where mental illness is the sole medical condition (currently scheduled for 17 March 2027, subject to change by Parliament). Law and policy change; verify dates and rules with official sources.
No contact or messaging
This site does not offer email, contact forms, live chat, or direct messaging to operators. For crisis support in Canada, call or text 988, contact Crisis Services Canada, or call 911 in an emergency.
